The World EXPO 2020 Exhibition opened on October 1, 2021 in Dubai. During this time, the Pavilion of Kazakhstan has become one of the most popular and visiting place – it was viewed by more than 200 thousand people. A total of 2,350,000 people have visited the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition since its opening.
Among the distinguished guests of the Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan there are a large number of official delegations, both from Kazakhstan and from around the world. In October, the Pavilion was visited by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau Dimitri Kerkentzes, High-ranking Ministers of the UAE, as well as Ambassadors and Commissioners General of the participating countries of the Exhibition.
The official opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Pavilion took place on October 1, 2021 with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates, the Commissioners General of the participating countries of the Exhibition, the leadership of the International Bureau of Exhibitions and the Organizing Committee of EXPO 2020.
On the opening day, the first guests of honor were the Ruler of Dubai, Prime Minister, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Dubai Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, accompanied by Her Excellency Rim Al Hashimi, Director General of EXPO 2020. Our Pavilion was one of four that the royal family visited on the first day of the Exhibition. In the evening of the same day, the Pavilion was visited by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Over the past month, the pavilion has presented a rich business and cultural program. On October 3, a series of business events Kazakhstan Green Day was held, organized by the IGTIPC within the framework of the thematic week of the EXPO on Climate and Biodiversity. RSE “Kazstandart” held a series of business meetings with Arab partners. From October 11 to 14, the opening day of the exhibition “Lines of Prosperity” of the Sal-Seri gallery was held, in which foreign and Kazakhstani artists presented new trends in fine art. In addition, on October 24 – 28, the Days of Kazakhstan Tourism were held in the Pavilion, during which panel sessions, business meetings, cultural events were held, in particular the performance of the folklore and ethnographic ensemble “Sazgen Sazy” and the fashion show of the MarinoMadi brand. On November 1, the business community of the UAE gathered the Nur-Sultan Investment and Tourism Forum.
The pavilion arouses high interest among media personalities as well. The content of the Pavilion fully reveals the theme of the Exhibition “Uniting minds, creating the future” and is a journey where visitors get acquainted with nature, history, culture, traditions, as well as promising development projects of the country. The content of the Pavilion also reveals the tourism and investment potential of the Republic.
The final show enjoys particular success among visitors. Acrobatic performance with a robotic arm symbolizes human interaction with artificial intelligence and the search for a balance between them.
It should be noted that one of the key objectives of the participation of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the World EXPO 2020 in Dubai is the possibility of attracting direct and indirect investments in the country’s economy. For this purpose, about 30 business events are planned at the site of the National Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of which conferences, forums, B2B meetings will be held, as well as projects on the investment and tourism potential of the country, scientific and educational initiatives will be presented.
