On December 14, the National Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a panel session on Artificial Intelligence and Education: “How to Train Future Artificial Intelligence Professionals in Research and Innovation?” organized by the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) within the framework of Knowledge & Learning Week on the EXPO 2020 Dubai.
Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Associate Professor of the Robotics and Mechatronics Department of Nazarbayev University, Director of ISSAI – Hussein Atakan Varol; Professor, Ph.D, Dean of the School of Science and Technology of Nazarbayev University – Vassilios Tourassis, as well as other scientists and experts in the field artificial intelligence (AI) attended the panel session.
In the first part of the session, the ISSAI Director Dr. Atakan Varol spoke about ISSAI research projects and shared the Institute’s experience in the field of AI, data science and smart systems. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Vassilios Tourassis.
A group of experts and scientists in the field of AI presented data on skills and knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence which are most in-demand now. The speakers talked about new AI technologies and the future labor market in terms of the artificial intelligence development. The panelists included experts such as the co-founder and CTO of Causaly Inc. (Great Britain) – Artur Saudabayev; Director of the Analytics and Data Science Department of Jusan Bank – Bauyrzhan Aubakir; Head of the AI and Applied Sciences G42 Department (UAE) – Shadab Khan; Dean of the College of Information Technologies (UAE) – Taieb Znati.
Overall, the event was an excellent opportunity to gain insight into current trends and developments in AI, the future of the labor market, and the skills required to remain in demand.
The theme of the World Exhibition “Uniting Minds, Creating the Future” and artificial intelligence is fully revealed in the pavilion of Kazakhstan. In the Future Now zone, a prototype of artificial intelligence is presented in a playful interactive form. Moreover, the main show of the pavilion “Unlimited Space” raises the urgent issue for the world community of human interaction with artificial intelligence through a unique choreographic performance.
