The National Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in an official test event organized by the Organizing Committee of EXPO 2020 Dubai in order to ensure the operational readiness of the exhibition.
The pavilion’s image inspired by traditional Oriental architecture and represents a synthesis of modern digital solutions and traditions. The pavilion is made of lightweight construction, the pointed arch reminds of the holy places of Turkestan.
The territory adjacent to the pavilion decorated with shadow structures and dry fountains to ensure a high level of comfort in hot climatic conditions. The motifs of Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage were integrated into the decoration of the pavilion’s entrance group: the petroglyphs, the geoglyphs, and the elements of the Scythian-Saka culture. The entrance group has a flexible queue formation system designed for various traffic loads on weekdays and peak days.
On a specially equipped outdoor area in front of the pavilion, Kazakhstan presented to visitors performances of the ethnic musical groups, as well as national compositions in the modern processing. By the way, among the nine pavilions that participated in the technical opening, the Kazakhstan pavilion became one of the most popular in terms of attendance. More than 1.5 thousand people visited the pavilion in just three hours. In total, about 1 million people are expected during the exhibition period.
The guests began their acquaintance with the Kazakhstan pavilion with the Pre-show entrance area on the DNA Code – Shezhire theme. The show tells about the historical connection of various ethnic groups and the contribution of the nomadic peoples of the Great Steppe to the genetics of the world population. Besides, the tourist potential of the country – the picturesque landscapes and natural resources, rich history, culture and traditions of the Kazakhs were demonstrated on the ground floor.
In the Nur-Sultan City – the Heart of Eurasia zone, the visitors could see a unique high-tech panorama of the capital, mixing print and media technologies.
The Future Now zone was especially popular among the guests. The Brixel Mirror kinetic art installation – a wall of the programmed moving modular blocks that work like a digital display was presented here.
The Vision Machine installation, which is also located in the zone, reveal the innovative urban construction, artificial intelligence, professions of the future, sustainable agro-industry, environmental protection, aerospace industry topics as well as the potential of Kazakhstan in these industries through the various interactive approaches.
In addition, various sectors of the country’s economy, namely investment, industrial, transport and logistics, and agricultural potential represented in the pavilion on a large scale.
At the end, visitors enjoyed a unique final show with a 270-degree panoramic cinema, representing a performance by an artist and a high-tech robot arm with elements of acrobatics. The storyline of the show represented the interaction of humans and artificial intelligence. This zone reflects the main theme of the exhibition Uniting minds – creating the future and completes the exposition of the Kazakhstan pavilion. It should be noted that specially trained guides from Kazakhstan have been working in the pavilion.
Within the framework of the EXPO 2020 Dubai World Exhibition, 25 business events are planned to be held at the National Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of the state authorities, the quasi-public, and the private sectors representatives. Moreover, conferences, forums, B2B meetings including presentations on the investment and tourism potential of the country, scientific and educational projects, creative solutions, as well as demonstration of promising projects and the latest developments of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held within the framework of the business events during the exhibition. As a result of these events, a few contracts and cooperation agreements will be signed, which in turn will allow to obtain a multiplier effect for the development of the country’s economy.
For reference: The World Exhibition EXPO 2020 Dubai on the theme “Uniting minds – creating the future” will be held from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
The theme of the exhibition consists of three subtopics: “Opportunities”, “Mobility” and “Sustainable development”.
According to the Organizing Committee, 192 countries have confirmed their participation in the exhibition, about 25 million visitors are expected, of which 20% are business representatives.
The National Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located in the “Opportunities” thematic cluster in close proximity to the national pavilions of the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Monaco, Switzerland, Luxembourg, China, Italy, and the Republic of Belarus.
