On June 10, 4 years have passed since the beginning of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, which, according to the International Bureau of Exhibitions, was one of the best Expo exhibition in the history.
During the implementation of the concept of post-exhibition use of the EXPO complex, approved by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2018, the exhibition complex was transformed into a new Business district of the capital.
A full-fledged business environment has been formed on the basis of the EXPO to stimulate business activity and attract leading development institutions. At the same time, there are modern playgrounds on the territory of the complex, equipped with the necessary equipment for holding events of any level of complexity.
The developed shopping, hotel and transport infrastructure creates favorable conditions for the sustainable development of the ecosystem of the Business district.
Thus, the idea of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to create a Business district of the capital is being successfully implemented.
On the territory of 25 hectares of the new EXPO Business district there are 15 objects with a total area of 350 thousand m2 with a parking space of 120 thousand m2. As part of the implementation of the Concept of post-exhibition use, the area of objects was increased by 75 thousand m2, the occupancy rate of which has reached 98% today.
From the beginning of 2023, it is planned to reach full self-sufficiency of the company.
One of the iconic objects of the Exhibition Complex is the Nur Alem Sphere Museum, which has become a symbol of the new Business district and a place of attraction for tourists.
Since 2018, the Museum has hosted more
than 150 entertainment and educational events and organized more than 500 open lessons of Kids & Students Future with the participation of all regions of the country.
During the post-exhibition period, Nur Alem was visited by more
than 800 thousand people. The share of foreign tourists is
15%, from the CIS countries, China, the USA, Germany, Italy, India, etc.
The National Company has a multifunctional platform “Congress Center” with a main hall for 2,102 seats and EXPO International Exhibition Center, which is the largest platform in Central Asia for holding congress and exhibition events of various formats.
In addition, the National Company is working on the creation of a trade infrastructure, within which it is planned to create 4 cross-boundary hubs.
The main areas of development of which will be: industrial cooperation, processing and storage of agricultural products, multimodal transportation, cross-boundary trade, as well as warehousing and storage.
Since January 1, 2021, the trade and exhibition center “Kazakhstan”, located on the territory of VDNKH in Moscow, has been accepted on the balance sheet of the National Company. One of the goals of the pavilion is to promote Kazakhstani goods on Russian market.
As part of the organization and preparation for the participation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the World Exhibition EXPO-2020 Dubai in accordance with the schedule established by the Organizing Committee, the construction and installation work of the National Pavilion has been completed by 100%.
The National Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located in the thematic cluster “Opportunities” in proximity to the National Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates, corporate pavilions, Emirates, DP World, Enoc and countries such as the United States, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, China, etc.
On October 1 of this year, the opening ceremony of the Exhibition
will be held with the invitation of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of the participating countries, on December 1 of this year, the National Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan is planned to be held with the participation of the Prime Minister of the country, on December 16, the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held and Nauryz meiramy celebration is scheduled for March 22, 2022.
