From 17 to 19 December, the Days of Tourism of Almaty were held at the National Pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the EXPO 2020 Dubai site.
A presentation of the city and B2B meetings with potential foreign partners took place within the event. Art projects representing contemporary art of the city of Almaty were also represented to the interested audience. The EMPAT interactive installation, symbolizing faith in people took a special place among them. There also art work of the modern Kazakh artist Alpamys Batyrov entitled Almaty 2.0 was presented to the visitors.
“The essence of the project is to create a creative mapping projection on the building of the Kazakh pavilion from the elements (nature, inhabitants, textures of architecture, etc.) that make up the essence of the city of Almaty, and show them from the different angle through the traditional media. In every metropolis there are parts of the old and new city, and I, as an artist, want to rethink these transformations in my project. I want to show the visitors of EXPO 2020 Dubai how our beloved city in all its fullness and beauty”, – the author A. Batyrov said.
The busy schedule of the Almaty Days also included a conference on the tourist potential of the city, which gathered the representatives of the government agencies, foreign companies and the media industry.
